These are the people who first turned the creation of the ancient Greek sandals into art and modern fashion.

They were masters in crafting leather and creating the finest handmade sandals in Greece.

In our small family workshop and shop in Athens, Monastiraki, 95 Pandrossou street, MATER TERRA Greek Leather Sandals would sell its authentic sandals to millions of tourists every summer.

Every night these people would gather in the workshop to design new models and every morning they would sell them in the shop.

Having nice stories to share about how these sandals were made, tourists were well attracted to buy our MATER TERRA Greek Leather Sandals.

Many friendships were developed between the customers and the shopkeepers. The past has now turned into memories and these memories became myths.

This story repeats itself until today. The small workshop, following the evolution of modern fashion and technology, became a small factory with experienced artisans who continue handcrafting authentic Greek leather sandals of top quality materials, while the legendary stories of our ancestors exist within our hearts.

Greek Leather Sandals

Sandals are a simple footwear composed of a sole that is held onto the foot by straps. Though the ancient Greeks did not invent the style, they did create many types of leather sandals, developing shoemaking into a skilled art and introducing a wide variety of footwear styles for all classes of men and women. By 500 b.c.e. the average Greek citizen could tell much about the people that passed in the street by the style of sandals they wore.
